Geocaching Services
Geocaching is a modern adventure sport that uses the global position system (GPS) to locate hidden containers. Most geocachers are looking for new and exciting locations to explore. Geocaches can be easy to get to but hard to find; hard to get to but easy to find or something in the middle.
Geocaching is an fun way to introduce new areas to local residents as well as visitors. A quality geocache will get more visits than what the players call a “lame” cache. Boring and uninteresting geocaches quite frequently get added to ignore lists.
You have come to the right site if you are looking for help to place a geocache or you would like to use geocaching as a new and fun way to bring teams together.

Corporate Events
One of our consultants has been hired to create a unique corporate event. Instead of a standard Christmas party this client has asked for a fun geocaching style hunt. The attendees will be split up into teams and sent on a search. There will be about 20 stops along the way. After the allotted time for searching the teams will return to the restaurant for prizes and additional activities. The client is a professional office that wants to try something different. We are happy to help them achieve that.

Introduction to Geocaching
Our consultant John Robb did not let a fractured ankle stop him from facilitating an Introduction to Geocaching program at Ruthven Park National Historic Site. The event was well received by the participants and the administrators at the site. The three hour program involved presentations, games and the ability to discover a couple of geocaches on the property. Many of the participants had driven by the facility many times but did not stop in until Ruthven hosted the geocaching event. The event was also covered by local media. Nicole Ambrose of the Chronicle wrote this article, Geocaching at Ruthven Park.

Geocaching as Team Building
Geocaching is a great way to get teams together so they can work on a common goal. The purpose of team building is to build trust in the team and open lines of communication. Geocaching can help with that.
Here are some hints to help make your team building exercise a success:
- Share GPSr between 2-3 participants per GPSr.
- Find geocaches that require the solving of a puzzle of some sort, ideally something that can be done in the field. Although and alternative is to solve the puzzle in advance and “test” the solution in the field.
- Look for geocaches that can be challenging physically but don’t require participants to be in great shape. Ten kilometer hikes are not suited for corporate team building exercises. Geocaches that involve a bit of climbing or that need two players to access are examples of caches that foster team spirit.
- Use multiple caches or multi-stage caches and assign teams to different parts of the exercise. The teams can solve part on their own but must come together to solve the final as a group.
Our consultants can prepare and deliver a formal program if required. Visit our Team Building page for more details.

Criteria for selecting loaner GPSr units:

Geocaching at Marinas
Many geocachers have experienced the joy of being brought to a wonderful location when searching for a geocache. There are many geocachers that are also boaters. What better place to hide a cache than at a marina.
A properly executed cache could bring new visitors to the marina. Marinas are active places so a well hidden cache that requires stealth is required.
