Julie Henning
Hi! I’m Julie Henning and you can find me in
Sun Prairie, Wisconson.
My Geocaching.com team name is CalORie, a combination word from the names of my three kids: Calvin, Owen, and Marie.
I write and maintain the Geocaching column for the family travel site Road Trips for Families.
As we travel across the country, geocaching is one way we’ve really gotten a feel for the local history, people, and geography. Our family considers geocaching a great way to stretch legs and slip in a little “educachen”outside the classroom.
My idea for Going on VaCachenTM is this: to introduce geocaching programs, challenges, events and competitions in the tourism and travel industries. Many wonderful geocaching programs already exist across North America and around the world. I also blog about geocaching as it relates to travel and tourism.
Not only is geocaching a measurable, trackable industry, it’s coming into the mainstream as people use the Groundspeak geocaching application on their smart phones. In fact, I was recently featured on the Social Media Examiner blog, one of the top 100 business blogs, as an iPhone geocaching expert.
