Trail GPS Workshop
In association with the City of Cambridge we will be hosting a 2 hour workshop on the operation of GPS receivers built for trail use. GPS units used for hiking differ from vehicle units in that they are smaller, weather resistant and battery operated. This workshop will focus primarily on Garmin units which are the most common trail GPSr, such as the 62 and Oregon series of devices.

- screen by screen review of Garmin GPSMAP 62s
- set up tips
- use of third party trail maps
- use of third party aerial imagery
- explanation of classic vs new page layouts
- how to use and program CHIRP accessories
- discussion on best practices for geocaching
- discussion on batteries and power saving tips
- usability tips and techniques
- maintenance recommendations
The session is free and open to all. Attendees are
encouraged to bring their GPS device to the session.
